65th wedding anniversary Feb 19, 2012 12:00 AM A A Johnny and Betty O'Connor of Shady Cove celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner hosted by the couple's daughters on Feb. 11 at Porters. Betty Pardue and Johnny O'Connor were born and raised in Lakeview. On Feb. 13, 1947, in Lakeview, after Johnny served three and a half years in the U.S. Navy, he married Betty, whom he had known all of his life. Johnny graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in forestry, and they raised their family in Medford. They now have four grown grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. After retirement, the couple traveled in their fifth-wheel across the Southern states. They settled in Shady Cove and have the river running by their backyard. They enjoy their friends and family dropping by to say hello.
