It's all thanks to a ridge of high pressure expected to build over the Four Corners states — Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona — this week, then expand outward. "It's still centered over the Four Corners, but it's just going to bubble up to the Pacific Northwest," meteorologist Ken Sargeant said. "Right now we're expecting 105 for three days in a row." A special weather statement issued by the weather service says the region affected by the heat is expected to stretch from the Mount Shasta area in California north well past Deschutes County, east over to Lake County and west almost to the Oregon Coast.  "This will likely bring the hottest temperatures of the year for many interior locations. It's possible records will get broken," the statement reads. Sargeant added that temperatures are expected to start warming up Wednesday, with a high temperature in the mid-90s, and that it's expected to keep rising.  "But it's not going to be until Friday when we really crank up the heat," Sargeant said.  The weather pattern is also expected to bring a slight chance of thunderstorms to the region Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Medford residents were acquainted with several days of intense heat earlier this month, when high temperatures for June 7 through 9 capped at 101, 105 and 98 degrees.
