Christino Ramon Ledesma, 22, of the 1000 block of Spring Street, appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court on Monday on charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, menacing and second- degree theft. If convicted of robbery, Ledesma would spend a minimum of seven years and six months in prison under Oregon’s mandatory sentencing law. Ledesma trashed an apartment on East Main Street, chasing its resident around the dwelling with an 8-inch kitchen knife when asked to leave at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, said Medford police Lt. Mike Moran. Ledesma took the man’s wallet — containing $58 — and told him to stay in the apartment’s bathroom, Moran said. The man was not injured. Advertisement An officer driving down East Main saw the tenant throwing things from the apartment and Ledesma running away, Moran said. The tenant pointed to Ledesma and said he had robbed him. Police chased Ledesma for several blocks and found him hiding in an alley off Eighth and Bartlett streets, Moran said. Officers still are looking for information about a mountain bike with an estimated $4,700 value stolen from the apartment, Moran said. Police do not believe that Ledesma stole the bike, he added. Ledesma remained in the Jackson County Jail on Monday in lieu of $500,000 bail.
