WEATHER Wet weekend predicted for Rogue Valley Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Mar. 13, 2015 at 11:41 AM Updated Mar 13, 2015 at 11:42 AM Posted Mar. 13, 2015 at 11:41 AM Updated Mar 13, 2015 at 11:42 AM » Social News It's shaping up to be a soggy weekend in the Rogue Valley. The National Weather Service expects more than a half-inch of rain to fall over Medford and Ashland by Sunday. Nearby Grants Pass could receive up to an inch, with more than an inch expected in the Roseburg area. About 1.54 inches of rainfall is predicted for Crater Lake and 1.64 inches for Diamond Lake. "The heaviest rainfall will be just to our north," said meteorologist Mike Petrucelli. "It just looks pretty wet. Most of the area will be getting some type of rain at varying rates." Scattered showers are expected Saturday, with the brunt of the rain coming on Sunday. The rainfall is expected to start dialing back Sunday evening, and there are no flooding advisories. Some snow could fall on elevations 8,000 feet and above. That's expected to drop to about 6,500 feet Sunday evening, with no snow expected on any of the area passes. The ski area at Mount Ashland, elevation 7,533 feet, is scheduled to be open today through Monday.  — Ryan Pfeil MailTribune.com Writer Posted Mar. 13, 2015 at 11:41 AM Updated Mar 13, 2015 at 11:42 AM » Comment or view comments Reader Reaction » STAY INFORMED Email NewsLetter Sign Up Today Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox.
