Police say more arrests to be made in New Year's stabbing WHITE CITY — Police said Monday that they expected to make several more arrests in a New Year's Day stabbing that involved rival gangs after finding weapons at a White City home over the weekend. Officers with Medford police and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department picked through a house in the 8000 block of Brie Terrace, seizing several items, including weapons, that could be useful in the investigation. "The retaliation between these two gangs has been escalating recently," said Jackson County sheriff's Detective Sgt. Colin Fagan. Fagan declined to elaborate on what type of weapons were taken from the house. At about 1:40 p.m. on New Year's Day, Medford police responded to reports of a large fight at Fourth Street and Columbus Avenue. About half a dozen young men had clashed in the area, with one showing a gun. Also on News Year's Day a man was stabbed at a house party in the 3200 block of Antelope Road, White City. Police believe that assault is gang-related. Police believe the violence is the result of an ongoing beef between the Norteños and Sureño gangs, which both have roots in California. "We want to make it clear that all of Jackson County law enforcement has taken a zero-tolerance policy toward gang activity," Fagan added. "We plan to make more arrests in this case."
