Frances Lorraine Thrun Aos Mar 01, 2008 12:00 AM A A Frances Lorraine Thrun Aos Frances Lorraine Thrun Aos, 79, former long-time resident of Medford and Grants Pass died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from a stroke at Milwaukie Providence Hospital. Frances had been living in the Portland Metro area for the last — years. Frances was born in Cottage Grove, Ore., October 20, 1928. She was a graduate of Cottage Grove High School. She and her family moved to Medford in 1947 where she sang with the Southern Oregon Symphony. She sang for President Kennedy when he was on his presidential campaign through Oregon in 1959. In 1952 Frances attended and received a certificate from the Western Music Academy in Santa Barbara, Calif. In 1960 she sang with the Portland Opera Company in Portland, Ore. She married Arthur Aos of Medford in 1963. She continued to participate in community operettas including the Mikado and others. Frances worked for Josephine County until her retirement in the early 1990s. Frances is survived by her brother, Leonard (Medford); son, Eric (Portland); step-son, David (Dallas, Texas); grandchildren, Amanda and Dustin (Portland), and Danny (Dallas); and great-grandchildren, Samantha and Cody (Dallas). Funeral services will be Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Rosary will be at Perl Memorial Home at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008.
