Main. Main will replace Ron Bolstad, who plans to retire this spring after 22 years at the university. Main will start at SOU March 1. Main has worked in administration at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, since 1988, serving first as director of business services, then as assistant vice chancellor for business and finance- university services. In that position, he oversaw university services, 300 employees, and a $40 million budget, according to an SOU press release outlining his experience. In Nebraska, he led a team that dealt with legislatively mandated budget cuts, and provided financial information about the university to the Legislature and governor. "SOU is very fortunate to have a long tradition of strong leadership in administration and finance, one that will continue in spades with Jim Main coming aboard," SOU President Elisabeth Zinser said in a prepared statement. Main earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Connecticut, and served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam. He has a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Texas in Austin. Before working in finance, he directed student activities, residential life and auxiliary services. Main and his wife, Camille, have a son, Clayton.
