I’ve tried several Web sites but haven’t found anything comprehensive. — Carole B., Medford You’re in luck, Carole — the federal government has a Web site called U.S. Water Monitor that brings all that information and more within just a few clicks of the mouse. Located at http://watermonitor.gov (note there’s no "www" in the address), it was created through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Geological Survey, among other agencies. It’s chock full of graphics, statistics, interesting tidbits and links to other sites. Want to know what the drought conditions are across the United States? Just click on the drought monitor icon at the top of the home page. Advertisement Worried that a recent downpour might create flooding on the Applegate? Click on the state of Oregon on the home page and the following page, then hold your cursor over the part of the river you’re worried about. (Applegate residents could relax on Sunday; the gauge read 1.93 feet, well below the 13-foot flood stage, according to Water Monitor.)
