October 07. 2014 12:45PM Medford Fire-Rescue teaches teens about firefighting Local high school students interested in a firefighting career now have a chance to get their feet wet. Starting Saturday, Oct. 18, Medford Fire-Rescue will host a six-week student fire academy. Each session will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Attendees will get to practice spraying hoses, climbing ladders, rescuing training mannequins and doing a variety of other firefighting tasks. There is no cost to participate, but interested students must register by Oct. 15.
