The Riverdogs rallied for five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Redding Dodgers, 7-6. The big comeback began when D.J. Kooken walked and Steve DeClerck singled to open the ninth. At this point, Redding starting pitcher Josh Oster was replaced with Zuke Richardson, who hit Phil Oullette to load the bases. Advertisement Chuck Shine ripped a double down the right field line, scoring three runs to cut the Riverdogs deficit to 6-5. Then Shine moved to third on an errant pickoff attempt by catcher Ryan Vickland. John Jefferson followed with a slow grounder to second. Jefferson knocked the ball loose from first baseman Rich Janeway with a dive to the bag. Shine scored on the play to tie the game. Jefferson advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt second and Eric Beasley was intentionally walked. Then Bill Rowe ended the game with a RBI single. Southern Oregon pitcher Jesse Stevenson picked up the victory with a 21/3 -inning relief stint. Stevenson retired all but one batter and struck out five.
