Crater swimmers cruise past South Medford in SOC meet Crater churned past South Medford to sweep a two-way swim meet at the Medford YMCA on Wednesday. The Comet girls crept past the Panthers, 149-125, while the Crater boys cruised to a 122-79 victory. Megan Leffman won the 200-meter freestyle and 50 freestyle to lead the Comet girls. South Medford was pushed by Lynea Loeffler, who took the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and Karen Kralik, who claimed the 100 fly and 100 breaststroke. Both were also key contributors on winning relay teams in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle. On the boys side, Ben Droesch was fastest in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke and helped the Crater 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams to victories. Kurt Vanderhoff won the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke to pace the Panthers. GIRLS TEAM RESULTS - 1, Crater 149; 2, South Medford 125.
