DOMESTIC VIOLENCE Trail man allegedly hit mother with hatchet Defendant previously shot by brother Comment By Vickie Aldous Mail Tribune MailTribune.com By Vickie Aldous Mail Tribune Posted Feb. 18, 2015 @ 1:21 pm Updated Feb 18, 2015 at 3:52 PM By Vickie Aldous Mail Tribune Posted Feb. 18, 2015 @ 1:21 pm Updated Feb 18, 2015 at 3:52 PM » Social News A man who was shot by his brother with a shotgun in 2013 is now in Jackson County Jail after allegedly striking his mother with a hatchet. Michael Wallen Chrisco, 38, of Trail is being held on $505,000 bail on charges of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. His arraignment on the charges was scheduled for Wednesday. The 6-foot-1-inch, 250-pound Michael Chrisco allegedly hit his 59-year-old mother Linda Chrisco in the face and pulled her from her trailer in Trail by her hair on Feb. 4, according to a witness statement to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Linda Chrisco reported her son also had hit her in the hand with a hatchet. She had a wound consistent with a hatchet attack, according to an affidavit. Michael Chrisco had violated a restraining order meant to keep him away from his mother, the affidavit said. In 2013, his younger brother, Joshua Ryan Chrisco, was sentenced to 60 days in jail after pleading guilty in Jackson County Circuit Court to attempted third-degree assault and possession of a prohibited firearm. During an alcohol-fueled argument, Joshua Chrisco blasted a round from a 12-gauge, sawed-off shotgun through a trailer window at Michael Chrisco, peppering him with pellets on the left side of the face and neck. Michael Chrisco's left eye and cheek were swollen and his face was covered in small holes from the shotgun shrapnel lodged in his face, according to an affidavit. Michael Chrisco was treated at Rogue Regional Medical Center. Joshua Chrisco said Michael Chrisco had taken his last beer before the shooting, the affidavit said.
