North Main Street in Phoenix reopens after gas leak fixed Apr 07, 2016 12:00 AM A A PHOENIX — A gas leak shut down part of North Main Street in Phoenix for nearly two hours. The leak was reported just after 8:30 a.m. in the 700 block of North Main Street near Bolz Road. Main Street, which is also Highway 99, reopened about 10:20 a.m., the Oregon Department of Transportation reported. Jackson County sheriff's Capt. Nathan Sickler said a gas line was "punctured inadvertently," but how was not immediately known. Phoenix police, the sheriff's department, the Oregon Department of Transportation and Jackson County Fire District 5 responded. Traffic was detoured off Highway 99 onto Sixth Street, then Fern Valley Road toward Interstate 5, according to www.tripcheck.com . This story will be updated when more information is available.
