SINCE YOU ASKED Since You Asked: Myers Lane closed for construction of new development Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Feb. 22, 2016 at 12:01 AM Posted Feb. 22, 2016 at 12:01 AM » Social News What has been going on with the closure and obvious construction off of Myers Lane? It has been closed for months at W. Stewart Avenue. — SW, via email According to Cory Crebbin, director of Public Works, "Myers Lane is closed to through traffic at the property owner’s request while construction is ongoing east of the street. The property on both sides of the street have the same owner, so there were no access inconveniences." Fortunately, traffic counts there are relatively low, so any inconvenience for the traveling public is also minor. The construction is for a project to install a private development known as the Stewart Meadows Planned Unit Development. "There is significant construction traffic, so safety is improved for the workers and the public by eliminating traffic through the construction area," says Crebbin. Myers Lane will be opened after the construction is complete. As always, Public Works' top priority is the safety of its workers and road travelers. It's good to know, SW, that we have a Public Works department that cares. — Send questions to “Since You Asked,” Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O.
