Medford crosswalk sting planned Thursday Apr 20, 2017 at 7:08 PM Apr 20, 2017 at 7:09 PM Medford police will conduct a three-hour operation intended to target and ticket drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 24, at East Fourth and North Bartlett streets. The "targeted pedestrian safety enforcement operation" will take place at the intersection's marked crosswalk, and will employ "decoy" pedestrians, according to a news release. Drivers who violate crosswalk laws will be stopped and cited by police. The violations of failure to stop and remain stopped for a pedestrian and passing a stopped vehicle at marked or unmarked crosswalks carry a presumptive $260 fine.
