Teens accused of making bomb Police said Tuesday they arrested two Medford boys in connection with making a bomb they planned to set off in a gravel pit outside the city. Police Lt. Tim George said no threat was made to any school, and the incident was not connected to any school or school activity. The boys were arrested at a residence in southwest Medford. The boys, ages 16 and 17, were taken into custody Monday at the Jackson County Juvenile Department. One was accused of unlawful manufacture and possession of a destructive device, and the other of possession. Both are Class C felonies. George said the device appeared similar to a Molotov cocktail, only larger. An Oregon State Police explosives expert who took the device to the OSP crime lab said it fit the definition of an incendiary device.
