Carl Bartlett, Bill Mansfield and Greg Jones applied for the position in Ward 4. The deadline to apply was Friday. Moore, who was 78, had served on the council for 12 years. Bartlett is retired from a career in sales and management, and has served on several Medford commissions and committees, including the planning commission, where he has served 11 years. He is also chairman of the Southeast Plan Implementation Advisory Committee, which is managing a large, long-term development plan for several hundred homes near Barnett and North Phoenix roads. Mansfield, an attorney, served on the council from 1985 to 1996, and has been Medford’s city attorney. He is currently Talent’s city attorney. He has served on the Rogue Valley Transportation District board as well as other area boards. Jones is a financial adviser and former Medford Parks and Recreation director. He retired in 2002 having worked for more than 28 years with the city. The applicants will be interviewed at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Alba Room on the third floor of City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St., Medford. Advertisement The committee will make a recommendation to the council, which will interview applicants at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, also in the Alba Room. The citizens committee, appointed by the council, is made up of Debra Lee, Gary Miller, state Rep. Rob Patridge, Skip Patterson and Bob Tull. The council will appoint the new council member at a noon council meeting on May 6. The term expires Dec. 31, and the appointed council member may run for election in November.
