The annual event, held at the Rogue Valley Mall, kicks off Pear Blossom festivities leading up to the Pear Blossom Parade through downtown Medford on Saturday, April 8. There were six categories in the baby contest: Quickest Smile (boy and girl), Bluest Eyes, Darkest Eyes, Prettiest Hair and Chubbiest. All of the entrants were eligible for the Baby Bud and Baby Blossom competition. Winners will ride in the parade. Winners of the 2017 contest are:  Baby Blossom: Miss Oakley Williams;  Baby Bud: Mr. Ryder Clark;  Bluest Eyes: Miss Kileah Ann Trammell; Darkest Eyes: Miss Mativa Moli;  Prettiest Hair: Miss Destiny Salazar;  Chubbiest: Mr. Thomas Moore;  Quickest Smile Girl: Miss Gracelyn Guyette;  Quickest Smile Boy: Mr. Ryder Clark. The contest is organized by Soroptimist International of Medford and all proceeds go to local nonprofit organizations that help women and children. This year’s proceeds will go to the Diaper Bank of Medford.
