Grants Pass man killed in I-5 crash By Mail Tribune staff Aug 29, 2019 12:46 PM A A An 84-year-old Grants Pass man was killed Wednesday evening in a crash on Interstate 5 near Sunny Valley. George Kachigian had been driving north when his Nissan Versa lost control and struck the center concrete median, according to an Oregon State Police news release. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on the right shoulder of the freeway. OSP responded at 5:51 p.m. Kachigian was pronounced dead at the scene. Responding agencies included Rural Metro Fire, Oregon Department of Transportation, American Medical Response and Josephine County Sheriff’s Office.
