As a full-time professor of educational leadership in the university’s school of education, he teaches classes in school administration and human resources two days a week and supervises administrative students gaining practical experience in school districts in Odessa and Midland. "Very slow pace compared to the superintendency," Gregory said via e-mail. Gregory and his wife, Sharon, are living in Midland, about 20 miles from Odessa. He said they miss the green of Oregon, but enjoy the full blue skies and lack of rain in Texas. He also appreciates Texans’ love of football. Gregory was superintendent in Roseburg and taught at a university in California before coming to Medford. He served as superintendent here for a year, resigning this spring, citing a clash between the district’s culture and his management style.
