Ashland sweeps in SOC meet ASHLAND - Ashland pulled off a sweep in boys and girls swimming action Friday, edging out North Medford and Crater in a Southern Oregon Conference three-way meet. Ashland's boys team, led by Brad Scoles, Jim Freeman and Nate Jessop, easily outdistanced the field to post 153 points at the SOU pool. Crater finished second at 72, with North Medford at 48. Scoles cruised to victory in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events, while Freeman took first in the 200 freestyle and Jessop first in the 100 butterfly. In girls competition, the Black Tornado gave Ashland a run for its money but came up three-points shy in a 115-112 outcome. Crater finished with 80. Erin Kulmac won two individual events for North, placing first in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
