Thousands without power after crash near TV studio By Mail Tribune and KTVL reports Jul 12, 2019 06:09 PM A A Pacific Power is currently responding to a cluster of outages in West Medford and surrounding neighborhoods after a vehicle ran into a utility pole on Rossanley Drive near KTVL News 10's studio in a crash that left live lines on the highway early Friday evening. As of 6 p.m. Friday, the utility company estimated the number of customers without power in Medford and many surrounding areas at 4,341, according to the company's website. Some 10 minutes prior, the website showed the estimate in excess of 11,000. KTVL News 10 employees witnessed the effects of the power outage that occurred right outside of the TV station's building. The vehicle took out the pole and the lights flickered in the station. The man operating the vehicle has no reported injuries. Drew Hanson, spokesperson for Pacific Power, told News 10 that crews are working to get the issue resolved. “Our crews are working to get the power up as safely and quickly as possible,” Hanson said. As of 6 p.m., Pacific Power officials estimate the bulk of the outages were estimated to be resolved before 8 p.m., but list an ETA of 8:30 p.m. or earlier for customers in Ruch, Applegate, Talent and Williams. pacific power outage.PNG
