A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy arrested Bright Monday on charges of third-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and harassment. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained late Tuesday on $42,000 bail. Drugs — Sarah Joann Pruitt, 24, no known address. Medford police Tuesday arrested Pruitt on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. She was lodged in jail, where she remained late Tuesday on $15,000 bail. Vehicle theft — Robert Dwayne Owens, 22, of Springfield. A sheriff’s deputy Tuesday arrested Owens on a charge of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Tuesday on $5,000 bail. Drugs — Jeffrey Christopher Smietana, 22, of the 400 block of Oak Street, Medford. Medford police Tuesday arrested Smietana on charges of manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance near a school, manufacturing, possession and delivery of cocaine, manufacturing, possession and delivery of methadone, manufacturing, possession and delivery of synthetic drugs. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Tuesday on $120,000 bail. Rape — Jamie Larry Rodriguez, 23, of the 5700 block of Drake Avenue, Central Point. Medford police Tuesday arrested Rodriguez on a charge of third-degree rape. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Tuesday on $5,000 bail. Rape, sodomy — Saul Randy Rodriguez, 19, of the 5700 block of Drake Avenue, Central Point. Medford police Tuesday arrested Rodriguez on charges of third-degree rape and third-degree sodomy. He was lodged in jail and released after posting bail. Crime reports Theft — 500 block of Alice Street, Medford. Medford police Tuesday took a report in which a seven-foot utility trailer valued at $1,500 was stolen.
