Greg Walden postulated that we who attended his town hall in Medford were outsiders and paid organizers. I am a member of Indivisible and trust me, no one is paying me. I live on savings and Social Security. I could use the money! Recently, he also asserted that we are doing nothing more than resisting and, by implication, failing to propose solutions. On the contrary, I have called Walden countless times and asked for independent counsel to investigate the Trump/Russia connection. I have pleaded with him to fix Obamacare, not repeal it, and even proposed single-payer. I have asked for bipartisan cooperation on a host of issues. Hundreds of other Indivisible members have also called with solutions. Here is something positive, and not mere resistance: Congressman, will you oppose reduction in size of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument? I feel that through his recent statements, the congressman is disrespecting me. That is a travesty and I will do everything in my power to try to get him to listen and if he will not, I will do everything possible to positively vote for someone else to represent me in Congress. We have received grants to help support our rental and/or utilities assistance programs from Oregon Community Foundation funds supported by Ames-Fluhrer Charitable Fund, Coleman Family Fund and the Reed and Carolee Walker Fund. We have also received grant support from The Carpenter Foundation, Medford Water Commission, Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation, Anna May Family Foundation, Pacific Power Foundation, Templeton Foundation, Washington Federal Bank, Horton Family Foundation and Carrico Family Foundation. We are an all-volunteer organization and, therefore, have been able to put these donations to work directly assisting our clients. We welcome new volunteers in all areas of our work. He's not a savior, and mostly not a destroyer. As I listened to his speech about Afghanistan, I imagined the same speech as if given by Obama. Given Obama's numerous reversals, that is plausible. If that speech had come from Obama, both left and right would have acknowledged its relevance. Being from Trump, conservatives are too intimidated to say much and Democrats trash it with shrewdness and not much reality. Trump's existence threatens entrenched Democrat bureaucracy and supportive media. The media's stated response is to destroy Trump. The venom of Trump critics is appalling. I and many of my friends of different parties oppose global control of our lives by international industry. I wish President Trump were clear about this. I don't think he understands how it relates to media and bureaucracy. But with most of our information coming from dominant Democratic media fabrications, how can we know? Ira Edwards Medford
