Three men sought in robbery Sheriff's deputies today are looking for three men whose break-in at a Sams Valley residence was interrupted when the homeowner returned to his property with two friends. Deputies had no one in custody as of 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The three men are considered armed and dangerous, Sgt. John Atkins said. At about 9:45 a.m. Thursday, the homeowner returned to find his gate and back door open. On his arrival, three men bolted from the house on the 4000 block of old Sams Valley Road, Atkins said. Two suspects ran out the front door and were pursued by the homeowner's friends until at least one of the suspects pointed a firearm in their direction, Atkins said. A third man threatened the homeowner with a firearm before he jumped into a silver 1990 Toyota pickup and headed south on Table Rock Road, stopping later to pick up one of the suspects. The remaining man ran into a 300-acre wooded area off Highway 234 between Rock Creek Road and Meadows Road. Atkins said sheriff's deputies searched the woods from 10:15 a.m. until about 4:30 p.m. Deputies said the men took about $300 worth of property from the house. Sheriff's deputies and officers from the Oregon State Police, and the Medford, Talent and Shady Cove police departments searched the area with dogs and with a helicopter. "We had several spottings in the area but we never could catch up with him," Atkins said. Deputies also were unable to locate the getaway vehicle. Atkins said the pickup has chrome wheels with large tires, a short bed and regular-sized cab. The Oregon license plate number is SLF123. The suspects are described as white males, in their mid- to late 20s, between 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 6-feet tall. Two are believed to have dark hair, the third is said to be blond.
