Ten seek Rogue Valley title Pageant events start with dinner Friday By KATHY MORGAN Rogue Valley residents will have the chance to spend "An Evening With The Miss Rogue Valley Contestants." That's the title of the annual dinner and silent auction taking place at 6 p.m. Friday at the Rogue Valley Country Club. The event is the first official presentation of the 10 finalists entered in this preliminary to the Miss America Pageant held in September in Atlantic City, N.J. The young women will compete for the title of Miss Rogue Valley at 7 p.m. May 8 at the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater in Medford. The winner will then travel to Seaside in July to compete for the title of Miss Oregon. But you don't have to go to dinner or to the pageant to see them. Here's a preview of the 1999 Miss Rogue Valley contestants. The finalist are: Nicole Brulc, 18, is a senior at South Medford High Schol. She is a daughter of Lark and Brad Brulc of Medford. She plans to attend Southern Oregon University, majoring in education or nursing. Her talent is playing the flute. Sherry Combs, 19, attends SOU, where she majors in health promotion and fitness. She is a daughter of Gary and Laurie Combs of Medford. She will sing for her talent competition. Audra Durkee, 17, is a senior at South Medford High School. She is a daughter of Howard and Judy Durkee of Medford. She plans to attend SOU, where she will major in health or science. Dancing is her talent. Stephanie Howard, 17, is a senior at Crater High School. She is a daughter of Stephen and Melinda Williams and Steve and Kim Marci of Medford. She plans to attend SOU and pursue a degree in elementary education. She will sing for her talent presentation. Christal Lunt, 20, attends SOU, where she majors in pre-medicine. She is a daughter of Keith and Vickie Lunt of Medford. Her talent is a dramatic presentation. LiLa O'Connor Osborne, 18, is a senior at Eagle Point High School. She is a daughter of Dale and Kelly Osborne of Eagle Point. She will attend Western Oregon University in the fall where she will pursue a degree in psychology. Her talent is singing. Bliss Jenson, 18, is a senior at Ashland High School. She is a daughter of Prem Dhanesh and Emily Jenson. She plans to attend Oregon State University, where she will major in psychology and public relations. She will do a karate demonstration for her talent. Tanya Lunt, 18, is a senior at North Medford High School. She is a daughter of Keith and Vickie Lunt of Medford. She plans to attend SOU, where she will major in elementary education. Her talent is singing. Stephanie DouBrava, 17, is a senior at North Medford High School. She is a daughter of Dennis and Ellen DouBrava. She plans to earn a teaching credential at SOU. Her talent is ballet. Ashley Stewart, 17, is a senior at South Medford High School. She is a daughter of Gerry Stewart and Coralee Eaton. In the fall she will attend the Air Force Academy with a major in biology and pre-medicine. Her talent is singing. (Tickets to the dinner are $20 and are available by calling 664-1880.
