Injury ends Barnicoat's net career HATTIESBURG, Miss . -- Southern Mississippi's all-time kills leader, senior outside hitter Tosha Barnicoat, saw her collegiate career crash to an end Sunday. The former all-state performer from North Medford High tore her anterior cruciate ligament in the fifth game of a loss to South Florida. After an MRI was done, doctors determined that Barnicoat will undergo surgery next Monday and will miss the balance of the season. "This is a sad day for such a great player's career to end," Southern Miss coach Steve Sykes said. "She meant so much to this program. She has put Southern Miss volleyball on the map and allowed us to gain so much credibility throughout Conference USA and the nation." She finished with 1,566 career kills and 1,593 digs. She was named first-team All-Conference as a junior after leading the Bulldogs to their best-ever finish at 21-10.
