Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend December 13, 2005 Light One Candle Mother-to-be needs a crib, baby clothes EDITOR’S NOTE: " Light One Candle" is an annual Mail Tribune feature that focuses on the single need of an individual, family or agency during the holidays. Soon, the 23-year-old Medford woman will welcome her first child. It’s a celebration, of course, especially because the woman lost her own mother a decade ago to a drug overdose. She has struggled hard to overcome that trauma — and the demons of her own drug addiction, says Naomi Levich, clinical director for OnTrack Inc., a local treatment agency. Slowly, she’s putting the pieces of her life back together. The woman recently completed her GED and plans to enroll in college when her drug treatment is finished She has a beautiful singing voice, Levich says, and hopes for a future that can showcase it. Advertisement This holiday season, the young mother-to-be hopes for help for her baby. If she could chose a single wish, it would be for a crib. But, really, she needs everything for a new infant: stroller, clothing, diapers. Donations for the young mom can be delivered to the OnTrack Home Program, 3397 Delta Waters Road, Medford.
