Central Point police arrested Carey Monday on charges of possessing amphetamine, reckless driving, driving under the influence of intoxicants, and using a vehicle to attempt to elude police. She was lodged in the Jackson County jail on bail of $17,000 and later released on her own recognizance. Drugs — Marty Dupree Hilliard, 29, no local address. Rogue River police arrested Hilliard on seven warrants charging him with failing to appear in court to answer a variety of drug- and weapon-related charges. He was also charged with using a vehicle to attempt to elude police and attempting to elude police on foot. He was lodged in the county jail on bail of $168,000. Crime reports Theft — Jackson County sheriff’s deputies took a report Monday on the theft of horse saddles from the 12200 block of Antioch Road. The victim valued the lost saddles at $1,800. Burglary — Sheriff’s deputies took a report Monday of a burglary at a residence in the 2000 block of Sunset Drive, Medford. Burglary — Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a burglary at a business in the first block of Mill Creek Drive, Prospect. Fire calls Residence fire — Ashland firefighters responded Monday to a fire call at a residence in the 200 block of Wimer Street. The residents apparently started the fire when they overheated a body-warming device in a microwave oven. When they discovered the hot pad was too hot to use, they put it out on the porch, where it came in contact with flammable materials that ignited. Firefighters said the fire caused about $10,000 in damage to the structure and contents.
