Still no sign of missing doctor Ashley Laird Sunday Aug 28, 2016 at 3:31 PM Aug 28, 2016 at 6:26 PM By Hannah Golden Mail Tribune Though dozens of volunteers searched Sunday for missing Jacksonville doctor Ashley Laird, 37, there is still no sign of her. About 100 people left from a command center set up at Jacksonville Elementary this morning, and another 60 people went to the Laird house to assist the family directly in a coordinated search. "We're here to assist the Jacksonville police," said Sgt. Shawn Richards of Jackson County Sheriff's Office. "We're continuing the search." Personnel from Jacksonville Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff's Office led the search. Richards said Sunday search parties were spanning the area around West Griffin Creek Road between Griffin Creek Road and Sterling Creek Road. Laird's husband, Dan Arnold, told police he last saw his wife when she left to go for a run at 9:15 a.m. Friday. Laird, an emergency room doctor at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, was not carrying a cellphone or other location-tracking device, and she did not communicate her running route with her husband, according to a media release from Jacksonville police. Laird is described as 5-foot-3, 100 pounds, with shoulder-length blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last known to be wearing a dark-green running shirt and a red and white Stanford running cap.
