According to an OSP release, at about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, OSP received a report of a person lying on I-5 who had been struck by several vehicles near Milepost 19, the north Ashland exit. The woman, identified as Kasha Rose Jenson, 23, of Ashland, was pronounced dead at the scene. OSP Sgt. Kyle Hove said the agency has not been able to track down anyone who saw her in the area prior to the suspected fall, or who witnessed the incident. Additional details about the fall were not available. "We don’t have a witness who actually saw it occur yet," Hove said. OSP troopers from the Central Point Area Command office, with the assistance of the Jackson County Medical Examiner's office, are investigating. OSP is asking anyone who witnessed the event to call OSP at 541-664-4600. OSP was assisted at the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Ashland Fire and Rescue and Oregon Department of Transportation. The southbound lanes were restricted to one lane for almost two hours during the incident response and investigation, ODOT officials said.
