He was born in Oakland, Calif. July 6, 1940. Chuck graduated from San Leandro High School and joined the United States Air Force where he served in San Antonio, Texas for four years. He then continued his education in fire science. Chuck married Karen Clark June 17, 2000; they were married for 16 years. Chuck worked as a fireman and was promoted to fire inspector for the Medford Fire Department where he worked for a total of 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, reading, hunting, photography, and Bible study. He brought the Smokey Bear Program to the elementary Schools in southern Oregon. He co-created the Caring and Sharing Program for Jackson and Josephine counties which provided donated household necessities to families in need. Chuck is survived by his wife, Karen; brother, William Jr.; son, Charley and his wife, Stephanie; daughter, Kimberly; stepson, Erik and his wife, Linsey; stepdaughter, Stacey; and grandchildren, Kyle, Hayden, Kat-Chan, Sydney, Abby, Ella, McKenzie, Jon, and Matthew. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. July 2, 2016 at Applegate Christian Fellowship. Pastor Peter-John Courson will be officiating.
