VANDALISM Sharpie-wielder marks up cars in Central Point Comment By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune MailTribune.com By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune Posted Apr. 14, 2015 at 11:08 AM Updated Apr 14, 2015 at 3:40 PM By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune Posted Apr. 14, 2015 at 11:08 AM Updated Apr 14, 2015 at 3:40 PM » Social News A Sharpie-wielding vandal used more than half a dozen cars in a Central Point neighborhood as a canvas over the weekend, police said. Central Point police said seven vehicles were targeted in the 600 block of Hemlock Avenue sometime between 10 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday. Lt. Greg Bruce said at least one person used a Sharpie or some other kind of marker pen to draw designs on the cars, including long lines and swirl marks. "Nothing with any meaning, just random," Bruce said. The owners of two vehicles reported about five gallons of fuel were siphoned from each tank, and one vehicle's tires were slashed. Bruce estimated at least $200 in damage was done, not including the drawings. Police have received no reports of vandalized vehicles from other neighborhoods. "There are probably more that didn't get reported," Bruce said. No witnesses have reported seeing anything suspicious that night, police said. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Central Point police at 541-664-5578. Reach reporter Ryan Pfeil at 541-776-4468 or [email protected] .
