The Cavaliers (11-9, 5-5) swept the season series for the first time in Cascade Conference play and handed the Raiders (3-19, 2-9) their sixth straight loss. CU received monster performances from sophomore forward Leigh-Ann Durham (20 points, 10 rebounds), freshman guard Denise Benedict (19 points, 12 assists) and junior forward Katie Adkins (18 points, nine rebounds). Southern, which led 25-19 in the first half but fell behind 36-35 at the break after Benedict’s buzzer-beating inside shot. The teams then battled to 55-55 and 64-all deadlocks before back-to-back Durham jumpers sparked the late CU surge. Advertisement Sophomore forward Andi Peterson led SOU with 19 points, while junior guard Chelsey Brock had 13 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Sophomore center Sara Beyer was one point and one rebound away from a double-double for the Raiders. Concordia went 31-for-67 from the floor (46 percent), while Southern was 24 of 64 (38 percent). The Cavs finished with a 45-43 rebounding edge.
