Driver who struck and killed bicyclist Sunday in Talent sought By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Oct 27, 2021 03:20 AM A A Oregon State Police is asking for help in finding a driver who struck and killed a bicyclist Sunday in Talent. Geoffry Sterling, 44, of Ashland, died after a vehicle hit him while he was riding at 9:53 p.m. Sunday on Highway 99 near West Valley View Road, according to OSP. The vehicle involved left the scene after the crash, police said. No vehicle description has been released. The crash investigation closed northbound Highway 99 for approximately three hours Sunday night into early Monday morning, according to police. Talent police, Phoenix police, Jackson County Fire District No. 4 and Oregon Department of Transportation crews assisted. Police ask anyone with information about the vehicle involved in the crash to call OSP at 1-800-442-2068 and refer to case No. SP21-268789.
