Appearing before U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken in Medford, 26-year-old Darrin George DuBouch pleaded guilty to armed bank robbery and possession of a firearm. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dismissed several counts of conspiracy and another firearms charge. Police described DuBouch as the member of a loose-knit gang that held up several businesses in November and December. In his plea, DuBouch admitted he served as lookout when $7,000 was stolen Dec. 11 from Western Bank in Gold Hill. He was the last of five co-defendants to plead guilty. The others were Edward Charles Brissette, Maria Elena Scribner, Vanessa Dawn Davis and Frank John Ennes. Among the robberies, $3,921 was stolen from the Lucky Dog Saloon in Medford on Nov. 4, $1,575 from the Purple Parrot video poker parlor in Central Point on Nov. 15, and $2,512 from Liberty Federal Bank at 1000 Biddle Road in Medford on Nov. 18. Another $1,000 was stolen on Dec. 9 from the Salvation Army Office in Medford. According to prosecutors, Brissette robbed Western Bank in Gold Hill of $7,000 with DuBouch acting as backup on Dec. 11. Brissette, DuBouch and Scribner were joined in the getaway car by Davis. Prosecutors also alleged that on Dec. 20, Ennes illegally disposed of a Taurus 9mm pistol used in the robberies. All await sentencing. DuBouch is scheduled to appear for sentencing Oct. 14.
