Such is the case with Holloran, who was arrested and temporarily jailed in May on suspicion of first-degree theft, first-degree official misconduct, falsifying business records and misapplication of entrusted property. Oregon State Police conducted a lengthy investigation into the matter and have since handed off the case to federal investigators, who apparently are still reviewing it. No formal charges have been filed. "We’ve given this to the feds in order for it to be prosecuted in their realm," OSP Lt. Kurt Barthel said. Holloran is suspected of using her position as a sheriff’s department administrative secretary to embezzle more than $1,000.
