Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend September 4, 2005 Suspect evades police in chase A man believed to be connected with a large marijuana bust managed to escape police Saturday after a car chase through north Medford. A Medford police officer attempted a 6:30 p.m. traffic stop on a 1990 black Ford Mustang convertible, Oregon license YSS 393, near the intersection of East Main and Geneva street. The officer recognized the vehicle and its occupant as being involved in a sizable marijuana bust that occurred earlier that day, Medford Master Police Officer Ben Lytle said. When the officer tried to stop the Mustang it sped away, heading north on Geneva Street. Three officers joined in the pursuit, which ran through several north Medford streets including Jackson Street, Crater Lake Highway and Spring Street. Eventually, the Mustang ended up heading north on Biddle Road near the Medford Airport at speeds of around 95 mph, Lytle said. For safety reasons, police decided to end the chase at the intersection of Biddle and Table Rock road. Officials are asking anyone who sees a car matching the above description to call Medford police at 770-4783.
