Time will be set aside for input from the public. The discussion will cover the increased construction costs ODOT faces due to gasoline taxes not keeping up with inflation. Hawks Classes: Former Klamath Bird Observatory president Dick Ashford will lead a class about hawks from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 4, 11 and 18, at North Mountain Park Nature Center, 620 N. The class, geared for ages 11 and older, will include ways to identify hawks, the natural history of diurnal raptors, and information about hawks' relationship with humans throughout history. Wednesday, Nov. 5 Windows in Time: Historian Joe Peterson will present a history presentation "Saloons and Suffrage in Southern Oregon" at noon Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the Medford library, 205 S. Homeless Shelter Volunteer Training: The Ashland interfaith winter homeless shelters are in need of volunteers, and will hold an orientation and training event at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Calvin Hall of First Presbyterian Church of Ashland 1615 Clark Ave. The seminar will provide background information for those who want more information before volunteering, and it is not necessary for those who volunteered last year to attend. Ukulele Orchestra: The United Kingdom Ukulele Orchestra will present "Mini Means Maxi," a symphony of mini guitars that delivers a range of music from rock to classical as it strums soprano, concert, tenor, baritone and bass ukuleles, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Bass Clarinet Takeover: The music program of the Oregon Center for the Arts at Southern Oregon University presents “West Coast Bass Clarinet Takeover,” a rare opportunity to see Edmund Welles, the only original bass clarinet quartet, on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the SOU Music Recital Hall.
