1 dead, 2 injured in east Medford crash By Nick Morgan By Mail Tribune staff Apr 11, 2022 09:30 AM A A One person has died and two others are severely injured in the wake of a single-vehicle crash that closed an east Medford roadway Sunday morning. A Chevrolet pickup truck with three occupants crashed into a tree at 1:58 a.m. Sunday, according to a release issued by Medford police. First-responders including Medford police, Medford Fire Department and Mercy Flights paramedics found the occupants severely injured inside the truck cab. Firefighters needed several minutes to extricate the occupants from the wreckage. Mercy Flights rushed the three individuals to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, where the hospital pronounced one person dead and treated the two other occupants for injuries described as severe. The names of the occupants have not been released pending next of kin notification. A portion of Crater Lake Avenue was closed Sunday morning while the Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the crash. A preliminary investigation points to alcohol as a contributing factor, according to Medford police.
