Commercial users can get rid of pesticide waste for free Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Feb. 3, 2015 at 5:15 PM Posted Feb. 3, 2015 at 5:15 PM » Social News Agricultural and commercial pesticide users from Jackson and Josephine counties can register now for free disposal of unwanted pesticides next month. A one-day free agricultural pesticide collection is set for Saturday, March 7, at the Rogue Disposal Transfer Station, 8001 Table Rock Road, White City. Commercial pesticide users must register by Feb. 20. Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration forms and details are available at jswcd.org . Empty, triple-rinsed pesticide containers will be accepted with no registration required. Clean Harbors Environmental Services has a contract, paid for by the Oregon Department of Agriculture and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, to collect and remove the pesticide waste, organizers said. A partnership of local organizations is hosting the collection to help reduce the risk of accidental pesticide release into surface or ground water. Partners include Jackson and Josephine Soil and Water Conservation districts, Rogue Valley Council of Governments, Oregon State University Extension, Harry and David, Rogue River Watershed Council, Rogue Disposal and others.  For registration and technical questions, contact Graham Gadzia of Clean Harbors at 253-639-4240, ext. 2813 or [email protected] .
