Eagles third at Coast Classic NORTH BEND � Eagle Point had two champions and placed third and Phoenix was fifth in the prestigious Coast Classic wrestling tournament Saturday at North Bend High School. Crook County won the event with 227 points, followed by Newberg with 219�, Eagle Point 188�, Redmond 172� and Phoenix 167. Twenty-eight teams participated. James Mannenbach dominated the 171-pound division for the Eagles. A 14-7 decision in the championship was his closest match. Blake Cam, at 275 pounds, also took first for Eagle Point, while Chet McBee (145) and Justin Winner (125) placed second. Winner was unable to compete in the finals because of a deep leg contusion and was runner-up on injury default. Other Eagle Point placers were Joe Lewis, third, 112; Justin Sheile, fifth, 103; Morgan Edenstrom, sixth, 130; and Jake Phillips, sixth, 189. Phoenix crowned a champion in Tyler McCarty, who downed South Medford�s Matt McCoy 6-1 in the 135-pound title match. McCoy knocked off the No. 2-ranked wrestler at that weight, Matt Wood of Crook County, 6-5 to get to the finals. South Medford placed 15th with 50 points. Other Southern Oregon entrants and their placings: Roseburg sixth, 126 points; Grants Pass 12th, 63� points; Klamath Union 14th, 55 points; North Medford 25th, 22 points.
