Rockhurst, ranked 24th and coming off a 42-3 season, proved too much in topping SOU, 15-3, 15-5, 15-6. Prior to the match of unbeatens, the Raiders defeated Chico State 17-15, 15-3, 15-1. Of Rockhurst, SOU coach Paul Elliott said, "That's a team that's big, powerful and plays great defense. We played great this morning to go 3-0 on the year. We weren't playing well against Rockhurst, but hung in there and showed a lot of heart by staying in there and maintaining composure." Erin Lytle notched 58 assists in the two matches, while Kacee Jacobsen had a team-high 10 kills against Rockhurst. Shelley Gorin led SOU with eight kills against Chico State, while Jacobsen, Sarah Lukacs and Monica Fisher each added seven.
