Rogue Valley Symphony presents yuletide concert Dec 02, 2011 12:00 AM A A The Rogue Valley Symphony, directed by Martin Majkut, will present its 2011 holiday concert, "Sounds of the Season," Friday, Dec. 2, at Newman United Methodist Church, 132 N.E. B St., Grants Pass; Saturday, Dec. 3, at the First United Methodist Church, 175 N. Main St., Ashland; and Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9-10, at the First Presbyterian Church of Medford, 85 S. Holly St. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. The program will include Christmas Symphony by Michel-Richard de Lalande; Fantasia on "Greensleeves" by Ralph Vaughan Williams; Carl Stamitz's Viola Concerto in D major, No. 1, with soloist Kimberly Fitch; "Dance of the Blessed Spirits" from "Orfeo and Euridice," by Christoph Willibald Gluck; "Made for the Night of Christmas" by Arcangelo Corelli; and a holiday sing-along with the Rogue Valley Symphony Brass Ensemble.
