October 15. 2014 5:46PM Visiting hiker logged more than 12,000 miles on 6 continents The woman who set the fastest known time record for hiking the Appalachian Trail will give a talk from 4 to 5:30 p.m. today, Oct. 16, at the Eagle Point library, 239 W. Main St., Eagle Point. Jennifer Pharr Davis has logged more than 12,000 miles on six continents, including treks on the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail, the 485-mile Colorado Trail, the 275-mile Long Trail in Vermont, numerous trails in Europe, and the 2,185-mile Appalachian Trail three times. She has been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post, NPR’s Talk of the Nation, ESPN, and the CBS Early Show. The event is free and open to the public.
