The Physical Culture classes will have the advantage this year of private dressing rooms and shower baths in connection with the physical work. Medford and the surrounding towns have given this school loyal support, one hundred and seventy eight (178) students having been enrolled in all departments during the past year. It is expected that this number will be doubled during the ensuing year. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 to 5 p.m. NEW MUSIC STUDIO OPENED FOR CHILDREN A music studio, introducing a radical change in methods of musical instruction, has been opened in Medford by Miss Edna Warner. The Fletcher method, which is used, trains the child to an understanding and appreciation of music in a pleasurable way, through a number of games and mechanical contrivances. Through this method, it is claimed, the child is trained in self-expression through a musical medium, getting away from the old methods which were more or less drill and drudgery. The method is indispensable as a review and for solving many problems of music for the pupil who has had years of instructing. LOCAL AND PERSONAL A number of Medford people attended the venison barbecue at Rogue River Friday afternoon. A feature of the day was the ball game between Rogue River and Foots Creek. With the score 6 to 6 in the 7th inning, Jerry Jerome and Quiz Quisenberry, the umpires, went on a hunger strike and called the game off. It appeared the odor of the roasting venison was too much for their baseball patience. T. F. Bates, representing the Anderson tailoring line of Chicago, will be with Gus, the tailor, Monday all day with over 1,500 samples for men's suits and overcoats to select from. This will be an opportunity for those desiring a tailor made suit at a reasonable price, to secure what they want and have their individual pattern.
