But I have a question: I notice there are a lot of signs around it — are those just temporary while we're all getting used to it, or are those permanent? -- Sherry P., Medford Thanks for getting right to the question and not going about it in a roundabout manner, Sherry. No, but seriously, we called Alex Georgevitch, traffic engineer for the city of Medford, and he said when all is said and done, there will be about 60 permanent signs around the new roundabout. There are entrance signs, bike lane signs, street name signs, arrow signs, exit signs, recommended speed signs, yield signs ... all of which are recommended by the federal highway administration. "It's a lot of signs but they will help drivers to slow down," said Alex. And the good thing about the roundabout, Sherry, is that if you miss a sign, you can always stay in the loop and catch it the next time around.
