A Medford police officer Saturday arrested Portis on a warrant charging him with failure to register as a sex offender. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained late Saturday on $15,000 bail. Eluding — Jesse James Brown, 23, of the 500 block of Lozier Lane, Medford. An Ashland police officer Saturday arrested Brown on charges of attempting to elude a police officer in a vehicle and reckless driving. He was lodged in jail and released after posting bail. Assault of police officer — Jimmy Lee Hill, 62, no known address. An Oregon State Police trooper Saturday arrested Hill on charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, menacing and driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Saturday on $17,000 bail. Sex offender registration — Glen Hayden McKinney, 50, of the 3200 block of Springbrook Road, Medford. A Medford police officer Saturday arrested McKinney on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Saturday on $5,000 bail. Coercion — Jose Guadalupe Anaya, 23, of the 400 block of Murphy Road, Medford. A Medford police officer late Friday arrested Anaya on two counts of fourth-degree assault, coercion and harassment. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Saturday on $17,000 bail. Crime reports Vehicle theft — 2200 block of Table Rock Road, Medford. A Medford police officer Saturday took a report of a theft in which a 1998 Mercury Marquis valued at $5,000 was stolen.
