The RiverDogs started quickly in the first inning by taking advantage of several Eugene pitching errors to jump ahead 3-0. RiverDog pitcher Mike McInerney struck out 11 and allowed only three hits in his six innings of work to keep Eugene’s offense to a minimum. Ryan Heil and Ken Halpin were both 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Derrick Draper drove in three runs to pace the RiverDogs in a victory that snapped Southern Oregon’s eight-game losing streak on the road. The RiverDogs (10-8) will try to continue their newfound success today as they take the field in a doubleheader against the Blue Sox at noon.
