Daily Memo - The Valley Fire monument receives donation from Erickson Erickson Air-Crane has donated $30,000 to the Wildfire Firefighters Monument in Boise, Idado. Helicopters from the Central Point-based company were used to fight wildfires in Florida, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, California and Oregon last year. The company contracts with the U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management and a number of state and local agencies -- including Los Angeles county -- to fight fires. "We have a close relationship with the men and women who risk their lives battling wildfires," said Lanny Allmares, who directs Erickson's fire fighting program. "Our helicopters work in concert with wildlife firefighters and it's an honor to make this donation in memory of the individuals who gave their lives protecting lives and property."
